Bits n Bobs is building a creative reuse movement in Santa Cruz County. Our programs are designed to reduce waste, inspire creativity, and make art and craft supplies accessible to all. While we are just beginning, each step we take today is laying the foundation for tomorrow’s permanent creative reuse shop.

Current Programs

Donation Collection

We accept donations of craft and art supplies including fabric, yarn, paper, paints, beads, tools, and more. These materials are carefully sorted and stored as we prepare to open our shop. Every donation you make today becomes part of the future inventory that will serve our community.

Pop-Up Events

Until we have a permanent location, Bits n Bobs hosts small pop-ups and preview events where people can see what creative reuse is all about. These gatherings offer a glimpse of the future shop and give makers of all ages a chance to experience the joy of crafting with reclaimed materials.

Community Partnerships

We collaborate with local families, schools, and businesses to collect unused supplies and share the message of creative reuse. These partnerships allow us to reach more people, save more materials from the landfill, and spread inspiration across the county.

Future Programs

Permanent Creative Reuse Shop

Our long-term goal is to establish a dedicated shop where the shelves are filled with donated materials ready for their second life. Affordable and inspiring, this space will be open to everyone — from hobby hoppers trying a new craft to teachers stocking classrooms and artists searching for unique finds.

Educational Workshops

We envision offering classes and hands-on workshops focused on upcycling, zero-waste crafting, and sustainable creativity. These programs will empower people to learn new skills while making use of materials that might otherwise go to waste.

Maker Space Access

Future plans include a shared workspace equipped with tools like sewing machines, cutting machines, and other crafting essentials, creating opportunities for community members to work, learn, and create together.
