Donating your craft supplies to Bits N Bobs is more than just a way to clear out your craft room—it’s an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on your community and the environment. When you donate, you’re not only giving new life to items you no longer need, but you’re also helping to reduce waste and promote sustainability. Your generous contributions allow us to offer free craft kits, host community exchanges, and create a space where people can access materials they might not otherwise be able to afford.

Every donation helps fuel the creativity of people from all walks of life—whether they’re experienced crafters, beginners, or families looking for fun, low-cost projects. Additionally, through our Compassion Crafting workshops, your donated materials help us make handmade items for local shelters, schools, and organizations in need, spreading love and kindness throughout the community.

By donating to Bits N Bobs, you’re becoming a part of something bigger—a movement rooted in sustainability, creativity, and compassion. It’s a beautiful way to give back, knowing that your once-loved items will continue to inspire, connect, and make a difference. Thank you for supporting our mission and helping us create a more connected, creative, and sustainable Santa Cruz County.

At Bits N Bobs, we make donating craft supplies as easy and convenient as possible. We are grateful for every donation, no matter how big or small, as it helps fuel the creative spirit in our community. Here’s how the donation process works:

1. Donation Drop-Off Locations: We offer multiple drop-off points in the Santa Cruz County area, including at our community craft exchange events. You can bring your unwanted craft supplies directly to one of our designated donation stations or events. Be sure to check our website or sign up for email alerts to stay updated on the next drop-off location and time.

2. What We Accept: We welcome a wide range of craft supplies, from fabric and yarn to beads, buttons, knitting needles, paint, paper, scissors, and more. We also take lightly used or new crafting tools, patterns, and instructional books. Check out the detailed list here.

3. Donation Guidelines: While we accept most craft materials, we do ask that items be in good condition. Please ensure that donated supplies are clean, sorted, and ready for others to use. If you’re unsure whether something is appropriate, don’t hesitate to reach out to us—we’re happy to help you figure it out.

4. Donation Events: We regularly host donation drives or craft exchange events where you can bring your supplies. These events also serve as an opportunity for the community to meet, share ideas, and pick up materials they may need for their own projects. We encourage everyone to participate, whether you’re donating, taking, or simply getting inspired by the creative atmosphere.

5. Online Donation Options: We are also working on providing more options for donating items online. If you’re unable to drop off donations in person, check our website for updates on how to mail or send supplies directly to us.

6. Compassion Crafting Donations: Many of the supplies we receive are repurposed into Compassion Crafting kits, where items are made into handmade goods for local shelters, schools, and other organizations in need. If you’re interested in donating supplies specifically for this purpose, we’re happy to receive materials suited for crafting things.

By donating to Bits N Bobs, you’re directly contributing to a sustainable, creative community. Your unused materials find a second life, supporting local crafters and helping us give back to those in need. Thank you for supporting our mission and helping to make crafting accessible to all!
